About 50 years ago a bunch of folks got together and purchased The Land, not for monetary investment but to grow and nurture this beautiful place in Northern California. Its 300 acres are full of meadows, oaks, firs, flowers and oh so many grasses.
Community. Over time, the people who founded The Land Group grew into a chosen family. Weddings and memorials were held. Kids were born and celebrated. And of course too many pot-lucks and nights of music making to count. Most of The Land Group members stayed in the city and visited when they could, while a few moved to The Land and became its resident stewards.
Conservation. Their knowledge of The Land increased over time, along side their efforts to:
undo the damage caused by logging,
protect against catastrophic wildfires,
remove invasive species, and
promote the oaks, other hardwoods, and native grasses.

The Next Generation. Now, a second generation of folks is building on their great work by:
getting involved with the conservation work,
learning about homesteading (goats, orchards, canning, chickens and more!),
coming together for skill shares, trail blazing, and pot-lucks, and
imagining and planning for what will come next for this special place.
